Some places are inspiring in their own right. There are many such places in Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc and Gran Vía installations that can combine the qualities of beauty, location, history and modernity to make them exceptional settings for holding events.
With tastefully arranged, original themed decoration and immersive lighting, customised catering facilities…they have everything you could desire to adapt their look to host more than forty corporate events every year. There have been more than 400 of these in the last decade and Fira de Barcelona has acquired a leading position in this growing market for business reunions, a status that stands alongside the institution’s prominence in the area of trade fairs and congresses.
In accordance with the strategy of diversifying its various lines of business, Fira has made efforts in recent years to capture corporate events for these singular spaces, setting up a specialist department that combines the organizational capacity of the institution and the quality of its services to offer support when creating unique events in Barcelona, one of the most attractive cities on the planet.
Meetings of the main tech brands
Major technology companies have relied on Fira to organize their corporate events in Europe. In 2019, for example, the most outstanding were VMware, Cisco, SAP and Linux, who altogether brought more than 60,000 people together, joining the many multinational companies who have already used Fira’s facilities, like Microsoft, Atlassian, Hewlett Packard, King, Amazon Web Services or Huawei.
Besides those mentioned above, the Montjuïc and Gran Via sites hosted more than thirty events for companies like Coca-Cola, SEAT, Renault, Sorli, Harley Davidson and CaixaBank in 2019, as well as the graduation and end-of-course galas for dance schools, high schools and universities.
2019, a year for Christmas parties
It’s not just a question of hosting corporate and marketing events, because there have been concerts, fashion shows and even Christmas parties as well, especially the meals that companies lay on for their employees. In some of these cases, the arrangements made verge on genuine works of art. For example, at the Christmas dinner organized by the firm EY for 2019, they transformed the Italian Pavilion at the Montjuïc site into an oasis, complete with waterfalls, villages and woodlands… Other similarly notable events were held by Cofidis, Glovo, Planeta, Volkswagen and Pascual and five others during 2019.
